In this concert, the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra gets new talent from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences’ music degree program in its ranks and its soloists. Professionals and students practice and play side by side.
Metropolia’s students are Severi Tikkinen (sax), Olavi Stanek (sax), Sakurako Ishiyama (sax), Leevi Koivunoro (trombone), Sauli Rantakeisu (trombone), Oiva Haapamäki (trumpet), Juho Ikävalko (bass), Leevi Koskinen (drums), Ilari Kinnunen (drums), Arttur Teränen (guitar), Sylvi Saarekas (guitar, vocals), Milla Kotilainen-Dwyer (vocals), Annileena Tulokas (vocals), Aino Liinoja (vocals).
UMO and young talents are guided by chief conductor and artistic director Ed Partyka, a pedagogue who teaches at several European universities.
The concert is part of UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra’s audience outreach and cooperation with Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
The duration of the concert is 1 hour.
