How about some jazz for lunch?

The very popular lunchtime concert concept of Savoy Theatre and UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra is back for winter/spring season 2024!

In this concert, the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra gets new talent from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences’ music degree program in its ranks and soloists. Professionals and students practice and play side by side.

Note! The same concert set will be played the next day at Metropolia AMK’s Arabia campus, more detailed information here.

Metropolia’s students are Severi Tikkinen (sax), Olavi Stanek (sax), Sakurako Ishiyama (sax), Leevi Koivunoro (trombone), Sauli Rantakeisu (trombone), Oiva Haapamäki (trumpet), Juho Ikävalko (bass), Leevi Koskinen (drums), Ilari Kinnunen (drums), Arttur Teränen (guitar), Sylvi Saarekas (guitar, vocals), Milla Kotilainen-Dwyer (vocals), Annileena Tulokas (vocals), Aino Liinoja (vocals).

UMO and young talents are guided by chief conductor and artistic director Ed Partyka, a pedagogue who teaches at several European universities.

The concert is part of UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra’s audience outreach and cooperation with Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

The duration of the concert is 1 hour.

Please note! The concert will be held in the Savoy Theatre at 12-13. The admission is free but it is recommendable to book a ticket in advance at the Savoy Theatre box office (0 €) or Lippupiste (1,50 – 3 € commission). Pre-tickets admit the audience until 11:50am, after which the remaining seats will be given to customers without a pre-booking. Please arrive early for the doors will be closed once the concert has started.
