The world’s most Finnish group form, the brass seven, wakes up to a new kind of morning today. Each of the seven brass instruments are controlled by a full-blooded improviser from the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra. In a brisk tour through the cigarette-smoky clubs of Berlin and Paris, we hear both Edith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich with the help of Anna Inginmaa. Esko Heikkinen conducts the evening.
Anna Inginmaa is an artist, singer and dancer, whose intense interpretation and dark voice take you to a musical world, the scale of which extends from perceptive reflection to melodrama that effortlessly fills a large canvas.
UMO’s Brass Seven is a smaller ensemble assembled from the ranks of the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra, whose musicians have a long career both in UMO and in numerous projects of their own.
