Olli Ahvenlahti is a composer and a versatile musician. He played piano in UMO in 1976–1982. Ahvenlahti is a productive jazz composer and, during his tenure in UMO, the orchestra recorded no fewer than sixteen of his compositions for big band. Now Ahvenlahti sits on the familiar piano bench as UMO plays his music once again.
Besides UMO, Ahvenlahti has done a long career as a studio musician, arranger, record producer and conductor of Finnish broadcasting company. He has also written music for Vesa-Matti Loiri, Irina Milan, Paula Koivuniemi, Johanna Iivanainen and Pepe Willberg. In the 1970s he released his two first jazz albums as a pianist and they still rate among the most valued recordings of Finnish jazz. In 1975 he was already presented with the Yrjö Award for his work in Finnish jazz. His most recent jazz album Thinking, Whistling was released in November 2017.

The conductor of the concert is Mikko Hassinen.
