UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and American singer Veronica Swift will perform at the Savoy JAZZFest and the Turku Jazz Festival in March.
The concert program features jazz classics that Swift, acclaimed as a scat singer, shapes into a new form. Orchestral arrangements of Swift’s repertoire are arranged by UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra’s artistic director Ed Partyka (US), who also conducts the concerts.
Veronica Swift is a 26-year-old American jazz and Bebop singer. As an offspring of very musical family, she started touring at the age of 9, and her debut album Veronica’s House of Jazz was released the same year in 2004. Swift has released four solo albums, graduated from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, and toured with numerous top musicians, e.g. with Benny Green and Wynton Marsalis. www.veronicaswift.com
