PUPPET THEATRE PINOKIO (SERBIA) & UMO:
MAX METALIK
Thu 31st of August 2017 at 7 pm // ESPA STAGE, HELSINKI
Man has always aspired to do something great that goes beyond the imagination and skills. In this story a group of enthusiasts build a large figure of metal and give a soul to it. After coming to life the figure discovers himself, his conscience and the world around him like a newborn child. But as a machine he is having difficulties to handle the feelings he received, and it causes a short circuit in his system.
Max Metalik was born in Helsinki in the end of the last millennium. After performing in the Helsinki cultural capital event in 2000 Max has been traveling around the world performing with the Serbian Pinokio theater. Now Max is returning to his birthplace Helsinki to celebrate Puppet Theatre Sampo’s and Finland’s anniversaries. The performance is a co-operation with UMO Jazz Orchestra, who is responsible for the music of the performance.
The performance is part of international puppet theatre festival SAMPO 2017, which is arranged for the first time. The festival offers performances for both children and adults, visual theatre and music as well as puppetry. Performing groups are invited from Finland and all over Europe: France, Slovenia, Iceland, Serbia and The Czec.
