UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra and vocal soloists Aili Ikonen and Sami Pitkämö will perform music familiar from super popular and beloved music program, Muistojen Bulevardi (Boulevard of Memories) of Yle, “the Finnish BBC” at Hamina Bastioni.

Beloved classics, glorious gems and best of the best evergreens from Frank Sinatra to Laila Kinnunen and from Ella Fitzgerald to Olavi Virta take you on a nostalgic trip decades back. Ed Partyka conducts this nostalgic evening.

Aili Ikonen (b. 1982) is one of the best jazz singers in Finland. She is a sought-after soloist whose voice has been compared to both Laila Kinnunen and Ella Fitzgerald. Since 2018 she is also a member of the vocal group Rajaton. She has released three solo albums and several albums with different bands and orchestras. Sami Pitkämö (b. 1973) is a multi-talented singer and interpreter, but also a TV conductor, composer, arranger and record producer. In his extensive repertoire, both American and Finnish songbooks are beautifully adapted. As a Frank Sinatra interpreter he is the most superior. Sami Pitkämö’s own orchestra has performed e.g. at all seasons of the TV show ‘Dances with the stars’.
