Only Art Testers can participate the concert.
UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra takes you to a fascinating journey of the history of jazz from the 1920’s to 2020’s – and finally into the future you dictate! The route is designed with the specs of big band music in mind, not forgetting the improvisation that characterises jazz. Seize the day!
The story of jazz goes chronologically from dixieland to swing, from be-bop to cool jazz and through fusion to more modern styles, with music of composers like Count Basie, Woody Herman and Maria Schneider. Finally we peek into the future using the coordinates given by the audience itself.
The wonderful saxophonist Adele Sauros is the soloist of the concert and the orchestra is led by conductor Antti Rissanen. Tour guide leads the audience to learn about music and concert etiquette.
The audience participates in the artistic content by visioning the future. They produce the image of their choice, and in concert the orchestra improvises the music of the future based on the outputs.
